She befriends a girl, Shiori, who is active in the kendo club, but misses her club practice since class was too long. Ran and Shiori hang out, and Shiori tells Ran that she has a tournament coming up, of which Ran offers to buy her a nice dress if she wins. But the next day, Ran overhears rumors that Shiori's family is moving overseas, and hears from Shiori that the rumors are true. Ran does what she can to earn money for the tournament, but has little time to do it.
